Enabling a Catalog Item to Be Requested on Behalf of Another User / Device

You can configure a catalog item so that a user can request that catalog item for another person or another person’s device. App Portal offers several different “request on behalf” options for a catalog item, which are specified on the General > Global tab of the Catalog Item Properties dialog box.

If any of these “request on behalf” options are selected, the requester will be able to use the selected method(s) to search for (or specify) users or to identify the target(s) of the request. The following “request on behalf” options are available:

In order to have access to these “request on behalf” options, the requester must have been assigned the Request on Behalf role under Catalog Management > Catalog Security.
